Javorníky & White Carpathian ridges
Ridge trails with views into two countries, orchid meadows and the silence of a protected landscape — the White Carpathians are a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
Horní Lideč sits exactly on the divide between two mountain ranges: the Javorníky rise to the north, the White Carpathians — a UNESCO biosphere reserve famous for its orchid meadows — to the south. The ridge trails offer views over both sides of the Czech–Slovak border.
Pick a route to match your mood: a brisk climb to the hills above the valley, or a full-day ridge walk along the border. In early summer the Carpathian meadows bloom with dozens of orchid species — and even on weekends you'll meet only a handful of hikers.
